This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a very rare and collectable Lancia spyder convertible which in one of only 9,390 produced worldwide!! Finished in gleaming silver with contrasting black leather seats in very good order, with no rust whatsoever, or damages etc, interior in very good order apart from a small bit of stitching on passenger seat (which will be repaired professionally before sold), bumpers and trim is in excellent order and is bright and shiny. The Lancia was imported many years ago and was owned for many years by an Italian car specialist mechanic/dealer. Zippy 5 speed manual transmission coupled with a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine this little lancia is fun to drive and performs very well indeed. Fitted with its original cromodora 14" alloy wheels which are in very good order and have the centre caps still fitted. Targa top and rear convertible top are in very good order. First showed at the Geneva expo in march 1974 on the pininfarina stand then were on sale from autumn 1974. The beta spyder-zagato was styled by pininfarina but due to a very low production volume, lancia reached an agreement for production with zagato company, whose plant was just a few kms from milan. The lancia beta spyder-zagato was then presented at the Geneva motor show in 1974. It was built in a very unusual way, complete coupe body shells were delivered to zagato for the roofless conversion, then back to lancia for rust-proofing, then back to zagato for paint, interior and trim, and then back to lancia for a third time for engine and transmission installation and final assembly. Lancia lost money on every one of these cars built. A very labour and cost intensive exercise in order to manufacture these cars. Production started in 1975 and the Lancia beta spyder-zagato was discontinued in 1982 with a final production number of only 9,390.
