This 1991 Chevrolet Caprice was originally imported to Australia in the early 2000s to be in film and TV (Ghost Rider, Salem's Lot) and was unregistered until 2021 when turning 30 years old it qualified for Special Concession Registration. It was purchased from a film company in Melbourne and remained in Victoria until 2022 when I bought the car and had it moved to Queensland. This is not a replica and is a true police unit from Los Angeles, though its previous owner did respray its body paint and added his own unit numbers. The car comes with some parts I imported: New differential seal, tie rod ends, 2 new rear coil springs and fittings. Some information about the car: The police lights and sirens do function, however as a condition of registration they have been disabled (removal of fuses and some wiring) The glass partition has been removed between the rear and front seats, the original fabric front seats and vinyl rear seats remain. The engine size is a standard small block Chevrolet 305 5L V8. The rear end had been lowered by the previous owner, I intended to bring it back to standard ride height and purchased the coils and fittings to do so, however did not get around to it. I have had modifications made to the car in order to make it roadworthy in Australia. The modifications include adjustment of front headlights for driving on the left and Australian compliant seatbelts fitted. The car has been registered in both Victoria and Queensland through the Special Concessional scheme and requires joining a car club in order to satisfy transport department requirements. The dashboard has minor damage, including cracks where it joins to the windscreen, and some brittle attachment clips have perished, so the centre section is currently being held in place with zipties. All in all the car is in good condition and absolutely turns heads and makes for a good conversation starter. It's a nostalgic piece from the 1990s and has been a favourite of mine since I can remember. I love this car and I'd love for its next owner to appreciate it as much as I have done.
