This is the only prototype BA GT Falcon 2002. Purchased from Ford in April 2003, it had around 5,800 klms at the time of purchase, it now has ONLY 6,800 klms!!!
It was used to promote the release of the first FPV cars. This was the very first GT produced by Ford and is Numbered P001, All the other cars that were produced just began with “000” then the Build number. Three months later I was approached by Ford to buy the car back, obviously I declined.
This actual car was Built in November 2002, and was used in the very few brochures that were produced at that time, it was also used in the promotional video which featured John Bowe talking up how good the GT really was,
This actual car was in the background, and later in the 5 min film the car was being driven around You Yangs by John Bowe at very high speed to promote how the car handled ect. I have all the brochures, photos, compendium, letter of authenticity and even the Ford tissue boxes and suit cases (still Boxed) that were part of the early cars, as well as the push button starter watch. This is topped off with the Promotional DVD showing the car. I also have signed photos of the car with John Bowe and all the paperwork. Including a car magazine which was looking for where the car may have disappeared to. The new GT was not made avail to the public until Febuary 2003, Very soon after that, the Brochures then featured a different car.
The car has been hidden & properly maintained and has never been out in the weather and at this stage it has only travelled 6,800 klms! This vehicle has some differences from the normal production cars, the Instrument cluster is slightly different to the normal production cars and the computer under the bonnet has hand written ID in felt tip pen with no bar code.
My background is a car mechanic and a self-confessed passionate car lover, so this has been stored properly and is just like a new car in all aspects. Including the new car smell!
This car is a significant vehicle for Ford and for motoring history in Australia and is the only one! Offers around $200k considered.
