Upgraded drivetrain with the 2JZGTE VVTi twin turbo engine this 2002 Lexus is built to be driven. The IS200/300 are known for their amazing handling, with the most rigid body Toyota under 1500kg. From inception, at Toyota the engineering team was told to make a smaller version of the Aristo JZS161 Aristo. When it came to upgrading, I chose the 2JZGTE VVTi engine and gearbox from that model. This has been fitted with Koni adjustable shocks and upgraded front brakes, it is even better. Factory ECU installed into the factory location and allows everything to work on canbus - except temp gauge. 3 after market gauges aded to the centre TRD spec location, above climate control. Upgraded turbos, Aristo stronger A340e gearbox (capable of 600hp) with tiptronic control on steering wheel. Gearbox shifts smoothly and, when required, quickly through the gears. HKS Hi-Power Silent 3.5" exhaust system - this is a Jasma spec and is everything you would hope it would be (quiet inside cabin for normal driving, with has a respectable idle note and barks when driven harder). IS300 rear subframe with Torsen LSD diff, stiffening bushes and axles added. Front brake upgrade too.
