Drop a high performance V8 into an extremely STIFF modern chassis. Then add a superlight fibreglass body with the exact racing aerodynamics that dominated Le Mans for years. Don’t worry about grip, the rear tyres are definitely wide enough to keep all the power to the ground without any need for stupid traction computers to be interrupting your right foot. The GT40 body shape simply refuses to date, it's withstood the test of time to become a timeless shape. Over the years I've owned a string of high performance vehicles and nothing comes close to the 'road status' commanded by this GT40. People seem to respond like you're a part of the supercar club with the Ferraris and Lambos, yet with the additional "street cred" of never needing to pay a ransom for parts and servicing. Scissor doors are seldom seen on a GT40 and they aren't merely cosmetic: they're essential to help the driver and passenger exit out from these unusual GT40 ‘roofed doors’ in narrow parking spaces. Powerplant is a Windsor high output V8 stroked to 347, mated to a 5 speed porsche IRS gearbox. Being such a common Ford block, any replacement parts you ever may need are (a) cheap (b) available in 3 different colours (c) delivered within 2 days from USA (d) and will be this readily available for decades to come. Wilwood brakes, 2-way adjustable suspension, and the latest EFI system from the USA. With such a mild camshaft currently installed this vehicle can be used as a daily-driver in congested city traffic. She's no 'highway queen'. Included is a 1-inch thick folder containing all the detailed info about this build. This vehicle has never been tracked, its history is well documented in the "chassis 31" file at the factory. GT40 replicas seldom lose much of their financial value over time (due to the steadily increasing component and labor cost to build one).
