All Ford Day highlight - 2013 FG Falcon XR6
The big number of late-model Falcons on show at the 2023 All Ford Day in Geelong shows that the car enthusiast hobby is alive and well amongst younger generations. Those new millennium owners aren’t afraid to modify their cars, either, as evidenced by this FG Falcon XR6 Turbo that was one of the most stunning machines amongst the 1,500 Ford vehicles that were on show this year.
In terms of eye candy, nothing matched this XR6 for sheer eye-searing brilliance, even factoring in some race car replicas and wild custom Fords from the chrome bumper era that were also at this massive show.
Wearing ‘WLDFG’ registration, this car was bright, bold and incredibly clean – inside, outside and under the bonnet - to the point where you’d swear it had been built yesterday.
Information provided alongside the car identified it as a 2013-model FG Falcon XR6 Turbo, with the factory 4.0-litre six and ZF six-speed auto, but modifications have been made to the engine, starting with a Pulsar 3584RS turbo and Turbosmart external wastegate, Plazmaman Stage 3 intercooler and custom exhaust created by DSR Performance, who also tuned the car to deliver 390RWkW at 18psi.
A Truetrac LSD has been fitted and the brakes upgraded to Brembo 6-piston calipers at the front, with PBR components fitted at the rear.
Wheels are 20-inch Vertini ‘Destiny’ alloys in satin black, while airbag suspension explains the ultra-low stance.
That paint isn’t paint, rather a wrap, specifically ‘Hexis Satin light blue chrome’ that’s been expertly applied by Wrapped on Vinyl. The headlights are halo-style, as are the foglights, with these and the double row underglow lighting fitted by Dans Custom Lights.
Inside, the factory rear bench and FPV GT front seats have been retrimmed in black leather with quilted contrast stitching in white by BNB Leather. There’s also custom floormats, auxiliary gauges, a carbon fibre-accented steering wheel and ambient lighting inside, along with an upgraded sound system, but the highlight of WLD FG’s interior was the Rolls-Royce style ‘starlight’ roof, fitted by Rizzo’s Fabrication & Repairs.
This amazing custom FG XR6 had people around it all day, and its female owner has every right to be proud of it, because it was simply amazing.
