Pro Burnout Series releases 2025 calendar
The 2025 Pro Burnout Series calendar is locked in, with 19 tyre-frying events scheduled for Australia and New Zealand. The calendar includes rounds at the Gazzanats, Tropical Meltdown, Rockynats, Steel City Nats, Red Centrenats and Powercruise, as well as Chrome NZ and Autofest.
The series culminates with a Grand Final at the Street Machine Summernats 38 (Jan, 2026), where competitors will battle it out for a $50,000 first-place prize; part of a total prize pool that exceeds $70,000.
Naming rights sponsor for the 2025 Pro Burnout Series is Castlemaine Rod Shop, whose expertise and dedication to the development burnout competitions makes them a key partner.
“Burnouts are a pillar of the Aussie motorsport scene and something that the Rod Shop crew are passionate about, whether participating ourselves or supporting drivers and events across the country,” said Castlemaine Rod Shop owner and burnout competitor, Heath Waddington.
“For us, the Pro Burnout Series represents the opportunity to extend that support in a more significant way and to a broader group of participants. We’re excited for what 2025 will bring for the sport of burnouts.”
The 2025 Pro Burnout Series presents drivers with multiple pathways to qualify for the Summernats final, from direct qualification via victory at each calendar event, to wildcard options designed to encourage participation from regional areas and open-class competitors.
At Summernats 38, there will be two streams for drivers to qualify – direct qualification and a wildcard program. A Wildcard Shootout on the Thursday of Summernats gives the top three competitors one last shot to earn a spot in the Pro Class, while drivers who have already qualified during the season go directly into the 30-car battle on the Friday. From this group of 30, Saturday’s 10-car final is determined, where a single competition will determine the overall winner.
Additional wildcard-only events will be announced as the 2025 season unfolds.
Organisers of the Pro Burnout Series say this structure provides opportunity for up-and-coming talent, while maintaining the elite standard of the competition.
