Snap-on Tools supports McGrath Foundation
Snap-on Tools has partnered with the McGrath Foundation in a unique fundraising initiative for the month of October. For the “Socket to Breast Cancer” campaign, Snap-on Tools has created ‘Pink Tool Sets’ to support the McGrath Foundation’s mission to ensure that no-one goes through breast cancer without a breast care nurse.
The limited-edition Pink Tool Sets include hammers, pliers, pry bars, screwdriver sets, shears, ratchets, cutters and more. To purchase a Pink Tool Set, contact your local Snap-on Franchisee. Alternatively, you can make a direct donation to the campaign HERE.
A portion of the proceeds from every Pink Tool Set sold in October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) goes directly to the McGrath Foundation, helping to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses and ensure that individuals experiencing breast cancer, along with their families, receive care and support from the time of diagnosis.
The incidence of breast cancer is increasing in Australia, with 20,973 women and 221 men expected to be diagnosed this year – that equates to one in seven women being diagnosed in their lifetime and 58 people diagnosed every day. As the most common cancer in Australian women, breast cancer creates a ripple effect that stretches through families and communities.
Tracy Bevan, Director, McGrath Foundation: "We are so appreciative of corporate partners like Snap-on Tools who help the McGrath Foundation work towards our mission of ensuring that no one goes through breast cancer without care. A huge thank you to all those in the community who choose to support the Snap-on Pink Tool Set."
Unfortunately, most Australians know someone diagnosed with or impacted by breast cancer. This month’s Socket to Breast Cancer initiative is part of Snap-on Tools’ commitment to give back to the community and drive positive change through the automotive network. It’s a cause that’s close to the heart of both the Snap-on business and its employees.
"As someone whose mum has been affected by breast cancer, this partnership is incredibly meaningful to me,” says Paul Lynch, National Sales Manager, Snap-on. “It goes beyond business and it's about supporting families like mine who have faced the emotional and physical challenges of breast cancer.
“Knowing that Snap-on is raising vital funds to help ensure more families have access to a McGrath Breast Care Nurse is something I’m truly proud of. It’s a cause that hits home for many of us and I’m grateful to be part of a company that’s committed to making a real difference.”
Grove Racing have been supporting Snap-on’s fundraising initiative, with the Socket to Breast Cancer logo added to the Penrite Racing #19 Camaro of Payne/Tander at this year’s Repco Bathurst 1000. Professional drift racer Matty Hill is on board, too.
"It’s a privilege to join Snap-on Tools as an ambassador,” Hill says. “As a professional race car driver, I know that every second counts, and having the right tools makes all the difference. Snap-on’s tools are unmatched in precision, durability, and performance. Their commitment to innovation ensures that every job gets done right - and fast.
“I’m proud to partner with Australia’s leading automotive tools company that equips professionals with the best tools in the industry and actively gives back to the community.”
At time of writing, Snap-on Tools’ Socket to Breast Cancer fundraising campaign had raised more than $190,000 for the McGrath Foundation, with the goal of reaching $250,000.
