The Bend to host a Supercars enduro in 2025
The Bend, aka Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, will host an endurance round of next year’s Repco Supercars Championship. This marks the first time that a single, 500km Supercars race with co-drivers will be held at the South Australian circuit. When Supercars last raced at The Bend (in 2023), the programme was made up of two sprint races.
Scheduled for 12-14 September, 2025, ‘The Bend 500’ will also feature a round of the FIA TCR World Tour. This global touring car category will headline the support classes, with other supports TBC. A grid of up to 30 TCR cars are expected, made up of Australian and international teams.
“I welcome Supercars back to the best permanent circuit in Australasia,” said Sam Shahin, The Bend’s Managing Director. “It’s a win for the sport, it’s a win for the competition, and most importantly, it’s a win for our devoted fans who will see the best form of endurance - and exciting - racing at our iconic venue.
“The combination of a challenging 500km endurance race and a support category list that boasts the best of the best, not only from Australia, but from the globally respected FIA TCR World Tour, will make for a sensational event in September, 2025.”
The inclusion of an enduro at The Bend won’t be at the expense of the Sandown 500, which remains on the Supercars calendar for 2025, in turn meaning the Enduro Cup returns next year. Last held in 2019, the Enduro Cup saw Sandown, Bathurst and the Gold Coast 600 make up the three rounds of the ‘championship within a championship’.
“We are delighted to be bringing Supercars back to The Bend in 2025, and to do so with an endurance race is icing on the cake,” said Shane Howard, Repco Supercars Championship CEO.
“Our previous seven events at The Bend have already treated us to a list of memorable moments, and I have no doubt that we will add to that list in September of next year.
“I would like to thank the Shahin family and the whole team at The Bend for welcoming Supercars back, and we are all eagerly looking forward to hitting the track at The Bend 500 in 2025.”
