Seller's Description
TMCS is pleased to offer this beautiful 1932 Ford Roadster we immediately named "BLACK BETTY". An absolute stunning roadster with all Ford running gear, classic hot rod underpinnings and aesthetics in all the right places. Unlike many roadsters this hotrod looks equally tough with its top up. It would have been easy to choose black but we think the burgundy top is just perfect and adds to the presence.
This vehicle was certified by Vic roads in 2015. Paperwork available.
Engine is a very special Cleveland engine built on the highly respected ARROW block from Western Australia (full info here> Amongst Cleveland enthusiasts worldwide, this is highly desirable due to its improved design over oem, durability and ability to reliably deliver big power. Transmission is Ford C4.
The chassis is repro rails with the rear notched for diff clearance. Steering column is XA Ford. Front brakes XY Falcon discs. Rear brakes XF Falcon with Ford 9" differential. The front end is traditional drop "I" beam with a stance that is just knuckle biting right. The chrome steelies and FORD caps with fat white walls are just sublime. Not all rods can carry this look off convincingly but "BLACK BETTY" has it down 10/10.
The interior? Next level. Beautifully considered and crafted with a clear vision and goal. Finished in deep burgundy Naugahyde upholstery and trim with matching carpet. The boot is finished to the same Classic Instruments domed glass red faced gauges have the right period vibe and the Moon flat spoke wheel is just pure SoCal magic. Whilst here in Australia this hotrod would be equally at home at the iconic Donut Derelicts meets at Huntington Beach, California and that is a high accolade indeed.
