1954 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C1 A very cool car. It all began when the first Corvette was shown in January 1953. Whilst essentially the same car was produced in 1954, there were only 300 units in '53 and they are now valued at more than twice the price of the 1954 cars. These Corvettes were all built in fibreglass and fitted with the Chevrolet 6 cylinder blue flame engine - 235 cu in.,150 bhp with triple Carter side draught carburettors. A Powerglide two speed automatic was fitted to all cars because there wasn't a strong enough manual available then. Weight distribution is 53/47 per cent and the wheelbase length is 102 inches. This one is in the original Polo white with red upolstery. A great looking car and in my opinion a safe investment - only 3640 were built in 1954.
