THE STORY The Buick Electra 225 were full sized, premium models from General Motors Buick division. The Electra name was used between 1959 and 1990. The “225” name is in reference to the vehicle’s overall length (225 inches or 5.715 metres). For this came the street name “deuce and a quarter”. All 225’s were powered by a 401ci (6.6 litre) nailhead V8 with a 4 barrel carburettor that put out 325 HP and had a 10.25:1 compression rating.
