With highlight features such as white wall tyres and polished chrome exterior inserts, this example is a true time capsule to its era and presents in excellent condition being the last release year model of the Wolseley 24/80.
This Wolseley 24/80 was purchased new from Kellow-Faulkner of Melbourne by Dame Pattie Menzies, wife of then Prime Minister Sir Robert Menzies, on the 6th of May 1966. The number plates that were supplied with the car "JMG101" are still attached today. Also accompanying this vehicle are the original owner’s manual, photos and old rego/insurance papers of the previous owner.
An example in such a condition would prove difficult to find, a once in a life time opportunity for addition to a classic car collection- is this meticulously maintained, Wolseley 24/80 MK II 66’. Produced by the British Motor Corporation between 1962-66, the Wolseley 24/80 stood competitively alongside its rival, the Austin Freeway. From the years of 1964-66 produced the Mark II edition with a body design like the Wolseley 16/80.
With a structural and mechanical base of the predecessor, the Wolseley 16/80, this example was powered by a 6-cylinder 2.4 inline engine producing 80 BHP. Its pulled by the factory optional 3-speed automatic transmission.
