Presenting an Australian assembled, stunning example of a 1972 Rambler Javelin, the AMC Rambler Javelins were the only American ‘muscle cars’ of their era to be sold new in Australia. The Javelin is an American front-engine, rear wheel drive, two door hardtop that was manufactured by American Motors corporation in 2 generations, 1968-70 and 1971-1974. These were marketed under the historic Rambler name.
Released with a top trim and features to include the renowned 401 V8 engine. The 401 V8 engine was generally only found in the 1972 Javelins here in Australia and a low 48 copies of this coupe were built by Australian Motor Industries (AMI). Its smooth 3-speed automatic transmission provides a memorable driving experience. Fitted with a ‘Twin Grip” limited-slip rear differential, this vehicle is testament to being one of the finer models released by AMC.
Previously making its way from WA – John Ivey’s collection- to Sydney, this example has been meticulously maintained after undergoing a minor restoration to include a complete engine re-build, completed at 93,100 miles.
Its exterior showcases an outstanding example post its full body respray undergone in October 1994. Its chrome highlights are compliment to its luxurious and sporty design.
Its all original interior has been well kept since new and this 4-seater beauty proves both powerful and comfortable. Fitted with all original dials and interior inserts, this example presents immaculate!
