Barn find VK BT1 built November 1985. Been in storage for over 10 years and is completely original, other than being fitted with a gas conversion. Very rare now to find a non-modified BT1 like this. Has original owner’s manual, tags and a portion of the build sheet attached, verifying its authenticity. Has all BT1 options including calibrated speedo, FE2 suspension, extractors, wiring harness, shifter, exhaust, etc. The body is very good, some rust around the back window (new Rare Spares panel supplied) and some small holes in the spare wheel well. All other rust is light surface rust from sitting around. Upholstery has a couple cigarette burns and marks but complete and sound. A dry clean would make a massive difference. Door trims have holes from Police option map pockets (missing), however, a spare set of door trims and plastic sealing films are included. Original model radio supplied. Drivers mirror is not perfect with a small piece broken off. The drivers door window winder is not working which only just happened when washing it. There is a repair where the gas filler was, a small dent in the roof and a dent in the front right guard. An aerial hole in the roof has not been filled well. Otherwise, very straight and all defects are easily repaired. The car could be just cleaned up and repainted, kept as a barn find, or fully restored depending on what the buyer wants. No work has been done to prepare the car for sale. It is an honest car, as shown. It is missing the corner trims at the rear blinkers. Assume it needs a complete mechanical freshen up. The engine was a runner onto a trailer in 2018, however, it has not been started since. It didn’t run well as the carby needs a rebuild after not being used for a long time due to the LPG. The engine appears to have been rebuilt at some stage with change over heads. Best assume it’s a rebuilder. The original air cleaner is missing. Wheels are not original, however, period correct 14x6 steel wheels are available. Included with purchase of the car is 1.5m of new upholstery fabric, spare wheel and tyre, a good front grill, new Rare Spares rear trim between the taillights, and Rare Spares lower rear window panel and other parts. All reasonable offers considered.
