THE STORY The 2012 Ford F150 Harley Davidson (“HD”) Edition was the 10th iteration of the vehicle developed in partnership by the two iconic manufacturers since 1999. It was also the last official model year. In standard form, the F-Series truck had Ford’s 6.2 litre V8 engine boasting “big bore architecture” that produced 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque. The trucks were lowered to provide a more aggressive stance and featured integrated, powered running boards. Each truck has 4WD capability and tow mode is toggled by a separate switch. In 2012, the truck’s side graphic was changed to mimic those found on HD gas tanks of the day and the wheels were 22-inch machined-aluminium with a unique centre cap. The chrome grille slats were designed to resemble the cooling fins of the fabled V-twin HD engine. Inside, the interior had snakeskin leather accents, a nod to seat material used on HD motorcycles, a voice-activated navigation system with 4.2-inch centre screen and reversing camera, power moonroof and remote start system. The scuff plates featured a brushed aluminium and snakeskin texture and all the interior chrome was finished in satin. Unique cloisonne “Harley Davidson” badges featured throughout the vehicle – manufactured by the same supplier to HD – and the centre console had a limited serialization plate that included laser-engraved VIN and the truck’s build number. THE CAR Finished in a new premium colour for the 2012-year, White Platinum Tri-Coat, this is an outstanding example of the ultra-cool Ford F150 Harley Davidson Edition. This truck has been upgraded with a Whipple supercharger which substantially increases the engine’s power and acceleration - the original intake is still with the car. The exhaust note is exactly what you expect and want to hear from a V8 engine – growling and menacing. Power is put to the road by Ford’s 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission that allows the driver total control over gear selection and performance feel. The interior is in excellent condition all round and features include second row heated seats, ambient lighting, 110-volt power inverter and power-adjustable performance pedals. The rear tray has a Rugged Liner black tub with the embossed HD logo proudly taking centre stage. There is a second set of 22-inch wheels that go with the car – the original wheels are currently on the truck as shown in the photos. Australian complied in July 2012 and build number 1336, this truck has travelled only 62,000 kms and has been well looked after. Fully registered in South Australia.
