Last chance to enter MG virtual Show and Shine 2022

Following the success of their first virtual Show and Shine last year, MG Motor Australia have brought it back for 2022, but entries are closing soon.

The initial event was designed to allow MG owners across Australia and New Zealand to connect and share stories of their beloved vehicles free of COVID restrictions.

“Connection is at the heart of what we do,” said Peter Ciao, CEO of MG Motor Australia and New Zealand. “Our 83 MG dealers are vital community hubs, connecting Australians with each other while keeping them moving. Through our partnerships and programs, we’re helping build stronger, more connected communities around the country.”

Given traditional in-person events still aren’t quite where they used to be, this year’s Show and Shine will follow the same virtual format as last year and is open to owners of all MG-badged vehicles, from the earliest pre-WWI models to the latest ZS electric SUV. 

Each entry generates a donation of $30 from MG Motor Australia to the Australian Red Cross – up to a total of $25,000.

In addition to supporting an important charity, each entry in this year’s Show and Shine also goes into the running to win one of 40 prizes supplied by MG Motor Australia, including the grand prize of a $1,000 Red Balloon voucher. 

Judging categories cover Vintage (1923-1954), Classic (1955-1980), Retro (1980-2008), Modern (2009-2012) and Electric (2020-2022) categories, as well as MG Specials and an MG Owners Choice award, with the ‘Overall Show an Shine Winner’ receiving the grand prize.

“We’re delighted to continue what is becoming a local tradition with our virtual Show and Shine,” Ciao added.

“MG owners can help us to showcase the wide range of MG vehicles in Australia, while helping contribute to a worthy cause with each submission equalling a donation to Australian Red Cross.”

To enter, simply submit up to 3 photos of your MG, along with a short story (up to 300 words), covering things like the vehicle’s history, significance and why you love it so much to the dedicated Show and Shine site HERE.

Entries close at midnight on 11 November, 2022, and only one entry per vehicle is permitted. Category winners and the overall Grand Prize winner will be announced on 22 November, 2022.
