VDO Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge

An engine running lean at high load can lead to major damage to the pistons, head gaskets and catalytic converters. Conversely, an overly rich mixture can lead accelerated wear to the bore, carbon build-up on the spark plugs and poor fuel consumption.

 

Available in narrow band (0-1V) and wide band (0-5V), the VDO Air/Fuel Ratio gauge works by using the signal from either the engine's exhaust-mounted oxygen sensor (0-1V) or a stand-alone unit (0-5V), allowing the operator to establish if the engine is running lean or rich at high load.

 

For racing applications, such a measurement is particularly important to assist with tuning and limiting engine wear and damage.
